The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) is included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). This outlines the criteria for hospitals to receive incentive payments from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to advance the use of health information technology. A qualifying hospital is an eligible hospital that successfully demonstrates meaningful use of certified EHR technology for a specified reporting period during a payment year.
Hospitals and Outpatient Centers continue to prepare and implement the necessary requirements for the HITECH ACT and Stage 1 of Meaningful Use. These requirements include: Upgrading to a certified Electronic Health Record system, including CPOE medication ordering functionality and the ability to report on data demonstrating adherence to stage 1 criteria.
CPeople’s Meaningful Use Solutions enable our clients to meet all Stage 1 requirements including reporting offered by our sister company IPeople.
